When should I get in touch about my Remortgage

Any time you are potentially planning to make changes to your mortgage it is worth having a discussion about your plans. Otherwise, 6 months before the end of your mortgage product is the ideal time for us to plan and action the new mortgage.

Will an Agreement in Principle affect my Credit rating?

The majority of lenders now offer an Agreement in Principle which leaves a 'soft-footprint' on your credit file which doesn't impact it at all. If a lender leaves a 'hard-footprint' on your credit file, this still won't have any major impacts unless you apply for multiple mortgages at the same time. I will let you know exactly when an Agreement in Principle is being applied for and keep the searches to a minimum.

What fees do you charge?

Any initial meetings and discussions are completely free of charge.

For mortgage applications the fee is based on the complexity of the case and is agreed before any applications are made. A fee of up to 1% may be charged, however my typical fee is £495 of which £195 is paid on application and the balance paid on receipt of the formal Mortgage Offer.

I do not charge a fee for any Protection reviews, whether part of a mortgage application or completely separate.

Can you advise in other areas of Financial Services?

Currently I hold licences to advise in the areas of Mortgages and Protection and will be adding Equity Release to my portfolio of services in the near future.

If however, you require any speciality services like Property Solicitors, Will Writing, Estate and Tax planning or Pension and Investment advice, I have trusted peers I can introduce you to for these services.
